    Itinerary of Chimpanzees Wildlife Tour

    Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport-Kampala

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Serena Kampala Hotel (High end) or Cassia Lodge (Mid-range), or Forest Cottages Kampala (Budget end) for an overnight and dinner.

    Day 2: Kampala – Kibale National Park

    Leave Kampala after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and the thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk through the crater lakes area of the park for an outstanding cultural visit.

    Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge (luxury) or Primate Lodge, Forest Cottages (mid-range), or Chimpanzee Guest House (budget). A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”.

    Day 3: Chimpanzees Wildlife Tour in Kibale

    In the morning you will have breakfast to transfer to Kibale Headquarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting.

    The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, and butterflies.

    After tracking the chimps, in the afternoon you will go for a nature walk to the Bigodi swamp– to see unique flora and fauna.

    Day 4: Kibale National Park – Queen Elizabeth Park

    Begin your morning with a visit to the Nyakasura falls in Fort Portal, and thereafter drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park. Astonishing sightseeing and game viewing enroute guaranteed.

    Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Park

    Dawn game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big games (Big Five) can be seen in abundance. The park is famous for giant African elephants, kobs, and some rarer animals like giant forest hogs. There are more than 638 recorded bird species in the park!

    After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, for large numbers of buffalo and hippos.

    Day 6: Queen – Bwindi

    Today’s drive is through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests which reach the volcanoes where the endangered mountain gorillas live. A visit to the bat cave close to Maramagambo forest or a glance at Kyambura gorge is a must!

    Make a game drive at Ishasha on your way to Bwindi in search of the tree-climbing lions. Later, drive to Bwindi via the beautiful scenery of the tea plantations. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds.

    The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park.

    Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi

    Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, etc.

    The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world!

    The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.

    Day 8: Bwindi Forest – Lake Mburo National Park

    After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park for a game drive with a visit to Igongo Cultural Centre. The park is renowned for zebras, impalas, buffaloes, hippos, topi, and elands including the rare shoebill, crested crane, pelicans, fish eagle, heron, and many water birds.

    With the view of Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s fourth national park, is the only one to contain an entirely rich diversity lake of animal and plant species (Lake Mburo) together with the other four lakes within the park attracts hippos, crocodiles different fish species, and a variety of water birds like Pelicans, Fish Eagle, and Heron.

    Day 9: Lake Mburo National Park

    After early breakfast, ready for a morning bush walk in the Park which is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains with big herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland, Warthogs, buffalo, and other savannah species. For birders, this is one of the best places to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, etc.

    The evening is spent on an evening boat cruise amidst the Hippos is amazing and relaxing at the Lodge observing games moving in the park.

    Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe Out

    After an early morning breakfast and check out of the hotel. You will take an interesting safari bush walk, this park boosts of the best Nature walks in all parks and it’s only this park that you can see Game/wild life on a walk, after lunch transfer to Kampala with a stopover at Equator Uganda crossing for a brief photo opportunity and to shop souvenirs.
