    Itinerary:

    Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport-Kampala

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Serena Kampala Hotel (high end), Cassia Lodge (mid range) or Forest Cottages Kampala (budget facility), for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal Plan: Dinner

    Day 2: Kampala – Kibale National Park

    You’ll leave Kampala after breakfast for a fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile delta to Kibale National Park, just below the Rwenzori Mountains. Get on an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area for outstanding views.

    Meals and overnight stay at Kyaninga Lodge (luxury facility) or Primate Lodge/Forest Cottage (mid range) or Chimpanzee Guest House (budget facility). All with stunning location overlooking a dramatic crater lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Meal plan: L & D

    Day 3: Uganda Chimpanzees Trekking Kibale – Queen Elizabeth

    In the morning, you will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale Head quarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk, in search for Uganda chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on other wild species, that will make it interesting.

    This walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys and L’Hoest’s Monkeys among others.

    After chimp trekking, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park ready for an evening two hour boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel. This is a worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, African Elephants and warthogs among others. This trip will also give visitors a chance to see spectacular birds.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (luxury facility); Enganzi Lodge (mid range) or Ihamba Safari Lodge Bandas (budget facility). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

    Day 4: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

    Begin your day with a cup of coffee, and then an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens’ Mile. Here, visitors encounter giant African Elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs and a variety of bird species.

    Thereafter, you will drive through the Ishasha sector. This takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment. If time allows, take on a mini game drive through Ishasha in search of tree climbing lions, before proceeding to Bwindi Forest National Park.

    Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high end lodge) or Sliverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid range) or Buhoma Community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (budget facility). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

    Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

    Begin the day with breakfast ready for gorilla trekking, which begins at 8:00am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority staff. Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks and jungle boots among other gears, because of the forest experience ahead.

    The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas, for perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. This tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but its well worth the effort.

    You will then spend the afternoon on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest live. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative and rewarding to all visitors. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.

    Day 6: Bwindi – Kampala/Entebbe

    Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch en route at a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara, to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima. Thereafter, proceed to the Equator crossing before your evening departure back home. Meal Plan: B & L.
