Day 1 : Arrival Entebbe Airport

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Entebbe Airport Guest House in Entebbe or Kampala Forest cottages (budget facility), for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan: dinner.

Day 2: Kampala – Kibale National Park:

You’ll leave Kampala after breakfast for a fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile delta to Kibale National Park, just below the Rwenzori Mountains. Get on an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area for outstanding views.

Day 3: Kibale Budget Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

Today is dedicated for chimpanzee habituation experience. Start the day with an early morning breakfast, and a packed lunch, then you set off into the forest before dawn breaks into the forest. You meet your guide and you are off to where the chimpanzees build nests the night before. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is rising from their nests.

Your day will be full, so your camera will fill up with quality pictures of the chimpanzees. Get ready to learn to identify the chimpanzees as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars and other unique features that make them stand apart from rest. Besides everything described, there are the most colorful butterflies, plants and trees, that will amaze you because the forest setting is simply awesome.

Day 4: Birding Safari in Kibale Forest National Park

This full day is dedicated for a birding walk. Get ready to be amazed by a variety, including Western banded Snake Eagle, Striped Kingfisher, Great blue Turaco, Lizard Buzzard, Lesser Striped Swallow and Joyful Greenbul.

You’re likely to see or hear the whistles of Chubb’s Cisticola, Masked Apalis, Cassin’s Grey Flycatcher, Whinchat, Stonechat, Green-headed Sunbird and Common Fiscal among others. All these in Bigodi Wetland, and along and around the Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Kibale National Park – Kampala

Morning visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the swamp.
