This 5 days, 2 times chimpanzee safari in Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park gives you the best and closest opportunity to encounter man’s closest creatures, the chimpanzees. This safari gives primate lovers a chance to do chimpanzee trekking as a chimpanzee safari in Kibale Forest, two times for 2 days.
Guests will have the first day of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale and the following day will be dedicated for chimpanzee trekking and habituation again. Visitors visiting chimpanzees in Kibale Forest will have quality time with the chimps and exhaust their love for chimpanzees.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park:
You’ll leave Kampala after breakfast for a fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile delta to Kibale National Park, just below the Rwenzori Mountains. Get on an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area for outstanding views.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Safari in Kibale:
After early morning breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90%, but not a guarantee. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting. The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys and L’Hoest’s Monkeys.
After lunch, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the swamp. This walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna, a variety of butterflies, bird species and other insects. You’ll also have a tour of the crater region around Ndali lodge. You may also stop over at any tea plantation along the road if you wish.

Note: For visitors that wish to do Chimpanzee habituation will need to add US$ 70.00 per person. Chimpanzee habituation gives you an opportunity to spend the whole day with the Chimpanzees
Day 3: Full day relaxation at Kibale National Park
Today is dedicated for relaxation on your Uganda Safari. Spend quality time with your loved ones, family and relatives in Kibale Forest National Park relaxing, unwinding, sightseeing and refreshing at your safari lodge.
Prepare again for your next day chimpanzee trekking safari in Kibale forest for the second time. Certainly your second day on chimpanzee safari in Kibale forest will be memorable for a whole new chimpanzee trekking experience.

Day 4: Second Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale
Again after breakfast, transfer to Kibale Head quarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. This forest walk will reward you with many other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys and L’Hoest’s Monkey. You will also enjoy various bird species and colorful butterflies.

Day 5: Kibale National Park – Kampala
Morning drive back to Kampala with lunch enroute. Meal plan B & L
